Want to change the world while you're at uni or college?
We suggest starting with your bins!
If you and a group of friends are looking for a fundraising challenge that will help clean up the planet, protect its poorest people, and provide jobs in vulnerable, marginalised communities, you’re in the right place.
A sponsored waste walk or litter-pick is a fun way to serve your local community, care for creation and raise funds for a Bin Twin. Here are our top tips…
In a safe way that complies with the government’s guidelines on social distancing, how about having a plastic-free meal together? Choose a date and challenge everyone to bring along their own food and utensils that does NOT include any single-use plastics (that means no cling film, plastic bags, plastic cutlery, plastic straws or disposable cups, no crisp packets or plastic sweet/chocolate wrappers). Here are some top tips on how to be plastic-free.
Set up shop
Sell, sell, sell all those unwanted items uncovered in lockdown, or use your creative skills to make and trade. Plants, keyrings, face masks…
Brave the shave
Get buzzing to raise some cash. Film and post your head shave online for maximum support.
Go the distance
Set yourself a sporty challenge: you could run, cycle or pogo for the planet… or, if you want to combine jogging with litter-picking, it’s apparently called plogging – and that might be a really great way to raise enough for a Bin Twin (or two)!
Give up something
What’s your guilty pleasure? Crisps? Chocolate? Doughnuts? Give them all up for a week and donate the money you save.
